  1. Role Purpose

Responsible for front office reception of customers.  To make an immediate professional impact ensuring all guests are given a “lasting, memorable, enjoyable and positive” experience at all ABSA establishments.

  1. Main Outputs
  • Perform telephone and switchboard services including receiving of call, taking of messages and making calls on behalf of employees if required
  • Receipt of visitors / guests and directing them towards endorsed appointments
  • Receive and capture building information where required and ensure distribution
  • Ensure all concerns are reported to the Regional Soft Services Manager in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that where there is no dedicated mail delivery mail is sorted and staff receive mail in the morning and afternoon. Recipients must be called immediately for urgent deliveries
  • Ensure that where visitor passes are required these are handed out, collected and recorded daily
  • Assist with administration for special tasks if and when required
  • Prepared to work on a Split Shift basis to ensure coverage for Clients operations under the Output Specification

  1. Qualifications and Skills

The Applicant must meet the following requirements: –

  • Grade 12
  • Certificate in Receptionist/Administration/Secretarial
  • Valid SA Driver’s License
  • At least 1-2 year’s relevant experience in a corporate environment and or office administration or secretarial capacity
  • Administration, Reception, Switchboard training ideally in a customer-oriented environment
  • MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and preferably other platforms for Receptionist requirements
  • Not required, however emergency and evacuation training will be provided for site specific requirements
