Role

  • To deliver and manage the delivery of mechanical engineering projects in accordance with Legal and SLA requirements.

Key Performance Areas

  • Manage the mechanical service
  • Determining risks and managing financial estimates of new and existing projects
  • Ensuring that mechanical engineering programs / projects are managed to standards
  • Ensuring that competent contracting staff are employed, trained and performance manage
  • Responsible for planning, implementation, monitor and review in the area of
  • Project scope defining concept, scope, tasks, performance and the change involved;
  • Quality criteria and control on the entire life cycle;
  • Project estimate, budget and controlling;
  • Project contract, acquisition and administration and procurement;
  • Project program pertaining to sequencing, calendarizing, duration and activity network analysis;
  • Project risk management and applying risk control mechanisms;
  • Project team procurement and appointment;
  • Project communication process and content; and
  • The integration of all the before mentioned complexities

Quality management

  • Ensuring that quality standards are met and communicate down to all levels.
  • Maintaining quality controls that are developed
  • Delegating control of policies and procedures
  • Auditing quality assurance documents

Customer

  • Liaison with current / new clients to determine long term strategy
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction by ensuring an equilibrium on projects pertaining to Time, Cost and quality
  • Liaison with other divisions to ensure that they understand the division service delivery

Finance

  • Control and manage project cost
  • Control and Forecast division budget and profits

Learning & Growth

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops: reviewing professional publications, establishing a personal network, benchmarking state of the art practices, participating in professional societies
  • Coach and Mentor staff to ensure effective staff development
  • Effective manage of staff to ensure staff performance

Minimum Requirements

Higher Education & Training

  • Ing/B Tech or equivalent
  • Professional Registration/Trade
  • Professional Engineer or Technologist
  • School Grade – Grade 12

Licenses

  • Valid Driver’s license

Experience

  • 10 Years Management and Mechanical Engineering on projects

  • Mechanical Engineering on projects HVAC, Lifts, Active and Passive Fire Protection
