To increase the Company’s profits through effective Business Development promoting and selling the Company’s wide range of Facilities Management and technical and engineering services to prospective clients.


  • Strategic sales
    • Develop target client list aligned to company’s targeted industries, target clients, sectors and services that meets Sales Department targets and objectives. Specifically target technical, engineering and business support services opportunities.
    • Establish relationships, meetings, presentations with targeted clients for continuous development of sales pipeline.
    • Actively manage target list through sales cycle to meet sales targets within specific sales cycle timelines.
    • Write and submit quality proposals based on thorough needs analysis performed on the client, detailing service offering and solution to meet the clients operational or strategic objectives.
    • Prepare commercial offering for standardised services based on standard company commercial models to be reviewed with Solutions Manager and signed off by the CSMO.
    • Complex or multi-disciplined commercial proposals to be prepared by Commercial Manager. Input into services, resources, client expectations, site specific information etc. to be provided by the BDS. Presentation to be made to Exco for review and sign off.
    • Prepare highly effective presentations to client demonstrating understanding of the client’s service needs and objectives, solution proposed and value proposition.
    • Complete assigned RFP’s to Solutions and Implementations Executives requirements and in line with bid requirements.
    • Contribute to strategic initiatives and sales targeting by researching and recommending new trends, new strategies and industry developments for accelerated business development and market share.
    • Actively search, pursue and engage targeted potential clients within the Facilities Management Services and specifically the technical maintenance services offered within Bidvest Facilities Management.
    • Actively search, engage, prepare presentations and meet sales objectives aligned to agreed industries, target clients and services to meet sales targets.
    • Write and submit high quality proposals for Facilities Management Services and /or Technical and Engineering Maintenance Services.
    • Negotiate services and commercials within specified company guidelines and sales targets for successful conclusion of sales with clients.
    • Meet sales targets on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
    • Consistently improve on product and service knowledge through regular engagement with internal Subject Matter experts, research and other learning platforms to present knowledgeable and factual information to clients.


  • Sourcing new business
    • Identify leads, new markets business opportunities and trendsetting ideas through a holistic research of the Facilities Management industry and technical maintenance services aligned to company services
    • Provide accurate and timely forecasts through utilising appropriate outsourcing tools and processes,

    • Develop accurate, rapid cost calculations and provide prospect Clients with favourable market related quotations
    • Provide Executive level representation at high level meetings with potential Clients
    • Negotiating the terms of the Business Development Agreement and closing sales. Sourcing new growth opportunities in industries
    • Representing the Company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstration
  • Client relationship management

    • Develop, manage, maintain and grow sound business relationships with current and potential Clients through all phases of the business development/sales cycle with internal and external Clients.
    • Responsible for effective communication between Clients and the Company.
    • Consistently touch base and visit prospect Clients for new business.
    • Co-ordinate Client site visits and deliver informative presentations in conjunctions with Sales Team.
    • Engage with internal Clients to ensure that business is transacted accurately and within pricing guidelines, to the highest ethical standards.
    •  Reporting
    • Weekly progress reports on pipeline and activities to meet RFP / client objectives and requirements.
    • Provide monthly reports on pipeline (current & potential) business
    • Monthly and quarterly report on sales achieved by client, industry, revenue and profit.


The Applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Matric
  • Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in Sales, Business Development, , technical or engineering disciplines
  • Driver’s license
  • Minimum 4-6yrs relevant experience
